Design:

Premium Design
The new Sony Xperia Z3 features a rounded glass encased aluminum frame with extremely rounded edges, a tempered glass back and a symmetrical design. It is extremely slim and easy to hold measuring at just 7.3mm which can be dunked into water for upto 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5mm.

5.2" Full HD Display
The Xperia Z3 comes equipped with a 5.2" Full HD Screen, embedded with IPS technology which incorporates its Triluminos Technology, offering a wide colour gamut.

Waterproof:

Waterproof and Dust Resistant
The Sony Xperia Z3 features a striking IP65/68 rating, which means that neither water nor dust can enter the smartphone which can potentially harm it. This rating ensures your smartphone is protected against water, dust and knocks.

IP (Ingress Protection) Rating
IP rating is a certification testing to measure a device’s resistance levels to both dust and water. The first digit in the two-digit IP rating indicates the level of protection against solid objects, including tiny dust particles whereas the second digit indicates how resistant the device is to water.

Waterproof Smartphone
Thanks to the IP rating, you can shoot pictures underwater for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5mm. You have to ensure that all the covers for the micro USB port, micro SIM slot and the memory card slot are firmly closed so that the water does not enter the smartphone.

The large 1/2.3” Exmor RS for mobile image sensor ensures smooth, clear reproduction, reproducing every stunning detail with greater commitment.

Handycam
With Xperia Z3 Sony brings Handycam recording technology to a waterproof smartphone. It allows you to take photos in stunning 4K resolution and edit them directly on your handset. As sometimes filming via a smartphone can lead to blurry images, SteadyShot technology has been introduced which uses motion sensors to detect the user's movements and in response produces clear, steady images. It also features Steady Shot with Intelligent Active Mode, which is an enhanced digital image stabilization technology to reduce the blurring effects of camera movements when shooting at slower shutter speeds. This is extremely effective in low, dim light conditions.

4K playback
The Sony Xperia Z3 is extremely powerful and can play 4K videos on a 4K TV via a MHL 3.0 connector, which allows you to enjoy your 4K videos in their anticipated resolution.

Pre-Installed Camera Apps

Face In
The Face In App lets you capture a picture and your reaction at the same time. It uses both the front and back camera at the same time.

AR fun
The AR Fun app is extremely cool. It lets you add real life objects, animated characters, drawings and allows you to add scribbles to your photos whilst you are capturing them.

Sound Photo
As soon as you press the shutter inside the app, 10 seconds of sound and 1 second of animation are recorded and you can view these sound photos in your Xperia album and can share them via Play Moments stream.

Movie Creator
The Movie Creator app creates short videos of about 30 seconds in length using the photos and videos you have taken with the phone.

Gaming:

The only smartphone with PlayStation 4 gaming
The Sony Xperia Z3 is the only smartphone to feature PS Remote Play which gives you access to your PS4 games anywhere in your home by simply connecting to WiFi.

PS Remote PLAY
Remote Play is a features that enables the PS4 system screen to be displayed on your smartphone or tablet. Thanks to PS Remote Play, you can seamlessly switch from your PS4 to your smartphone and tablet. Simply connect your smartphone or tablet to your home WiFi, and play the games using the DualShock controller.

*Functionality available on the Xperia Z3, the Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact starting from November 2014. PS4 System, DUALSHOCK®4, Sony Entertainment Network and high-speed Internet connection required. Some games may not support this feature.

Battery life:

Two-day Battery
The Z3 boasts a fast 2.5GHz Snapdragon Quad Core Processor and promises up to two days of battery life with normal usage. You do not have to worry about running out of battery, you will have enough battery to last you two full days without having to close apps, adjust your display, turn off mobile data and wifi to save battery life.

Battery STAMINA Mode
If you are worried about the apps draining your battery, then the Battery Stamina Mode is the key. Smartphones use a lot of power, therefore, apps which are actively running in the background even when you are not actively using them, drains your battery. Battery Stamina Mode blocks data traffic and background activities once the screen is off, saving you battery life. Once you turn the screen on, the activities will resume again. With Battery Stamina Mode, you will still recieve phone calls and messages at all times.

Extended Standby Time
The Sony Xperia Z3 features Extended Standby Time which when turned on, simply disables all running applications and services but does not let you miss out on important calls, texts, alarms and any important notifications. As soon as you press the power button, the Extended Standby Time will be disabled, all the notifications and everything is up and running again.

Extended Usage Mode
Need to make an important call but low on battery? Simply switch on Extended usage mode and gain an extra 14% of usage time. Extended usage mode will restrict the performance of the handset when the display is on to increase battery life.

Ultra STAMINA Mode
Are you low on battery but far away from your charger and to lazy to get up? The Ultra STAMINA Mode will help you out, it disables everything except important core functions like calls and text messages, so it does not let you miss out on important calls or messages. It is just like a reserve tank lasting you an entire week of battery life.
