A solid wind screen mount and bright, responsive touchscreen provide an excellent base for straightforward menus…we especially like the clear voice navigation, with text-to-speech tech that reads out street names.’ Stuff says: ‘Despite all the TomTom GO 910’s tech trickery, we couldn’t get it to step out of line.’ Reason enough to award the TomTom GO 910 with the Stuff Hot Buy award! The four-inch widescreen oozes detail, with clear menus just a finger prod away. It’s packed with features, from multiple voices to a built-in MP3 player.’ But besides this, the TomTom GO 910 is also performing well on his core feature navigation: ‘…route calculation is also faster than average. Guidance is best on test, with intuitive maps and even side roads being described by name.’ T3’s overall conclusion: ‘This is a top navigator…TomTom has done it again. Navigation has never looked so good – and now it’s in widescreen!’ [July 2006]

Stuff magazine: “For once something exciting occured in sat-nav land” Stuff magazine was one of the first UK magazines to have a play with the new TomTom GO 910, which got the reviewers of Stuff magazine in a “fevered state”. “TomTom’s new hard drive-packing, iPod-loving widescreen sat-nav.”, as they call it, is receiving good marks for its high quality wide screen. “For plain old navigation, the neat bit is the widescreen…this one has a corking 480 x 272 resolution which – on the unit we saw – had a good viewing angle and was coping well with sun streaming in through the windows.” Stuff magazine also loves the text-to speech feature, suggesting it’s “the most natural text-to-speech we’ve heard yet”. “The music side of things is even more interesting…free space for MP3’s and JPEGs, proper browsing by artist, album and genre, plus a USB dock to transfer the stuff on there from your PC.” Stuff magazine finishes the article with: “last but not least – and where skipping a whole lot of stuff here – there’s Bluetooth phone and hands-free integration and some cool new PC software for loading new voices, maps, music and photos.” [March, 2006]

The debonair dashboard accessory is the worlds first portable widescreen navigator, measuring in at a generous 4-inches”. But the new TomTom GO 910 offers a lot more: “the real sweetener is the fact that it comes with a 20GB hard disk…which can be used to store MP3s and photos”. Also highlighted in the review is the expanded map data, “the first ever portable satnav to come preloaded with maps of Europe, USA and Canada”. T3’s overall conclusion doesn’t leave any doubts: “This chic collection from TomTom proves why we all want a piece of the action” [March, 2006]
